In case you're wondering what to say to our Town Counsil, here is what I sent to all members:

As denied in the past two efforts, the answer to extend Windsor Drive to FM2499 is still NO! With the widening of FM2499 and upcoming FM1171, road traffic will better flow along and through the intersection of FM2499 and FM1171. Why has the Town just spent tons of taxpayer money to widen FM2499 and the upcoming FM1171 if it does not want people to use them? It does not make sense to add yet another road that connects the two just-improved roads citing that it’s needed to improve traffic flow.

Additionally, neighborhoods are designed to be clusters of homes within a designated, confined area. Why do you believe that opening up a residential street in a highly populated neighborhood would sound like a good idea? There is already enough traffic that passes along Bridlewood Blvd causing congestion at both ends, especially at FM1171. There is no need to direct an additional 4500 cars/day through this community just to make a different intersection unbearably congested.

But most importantly is the safety of children and other pedestrians who frequently use Windsor Drive and Bridlewood Blvd to get to and from school, jog, ride bikes, walk pets, etc. These are significant thoroughfares within the community that currently allow safe and reasonable access to the rest of the community. The addition of 4500 cars/day will significantly hinder accessibility to adjacent residential streets as well as cause heightened danger to those who rely on Windsor Drive and Bridlewood Blvd for foot/bike/scooter/etc. transportation, especially children who use these roads to get to/from school.

The extension of Windsor Drive is not necessary. Don’t diminish the pleasure and increase the risk of those who live in Bridlewood for a plan that is not sensible.

Listen to the people for whom you represent. Do NOT support the extension of Windsor Drive to FM2499.

How many times must we say NO?

I, along with many of my neighbors will be at the Town Hall meeting on December 8 to once again protest the "Windsor Extension". With the widening of 1171, 407 and 2499 I do not see any logical reason to approve this extension. After the completion of construction on these roads if the residents of Bridlewood are still having congestion issues, the reality is they may just have to sit in traffic like the rest of us.
